Hi,

im trying to connect only to a particular database remotely as a client with orcl 9.2.0.4 WITH WIN 2K

Listener is started at both server and client sides.
tnsnames.ora is edit occardingly.
host_id abc
Service_name: XYZ
Steps followed:

CONFIGURED LISTENER WITH FOLLOWING STEPSFrom client:
* Oracle Net configuration.
* Local Net Service Name Configuration
* ADD - > Service_name: XYZ
* TCP
* HOSTNAME: ABC
* Use the standard port number 1521
* YES, perform a TEST
TEST ERROR: CONNECTING ORA-12545 (See ORA-12545.ora-code.com). CONNECT FAILED BECAUSE TARGET HOST OR OBJECT DOES NOT EXIST

TNSPING pidb
TNS-12541 NO LISTENER
